They take this assignment in exchange of Nebula but things go out of their hands when Rocket the Raccoon steals some of these batteries during the war. Finding a hideout from Ayesha’s men, their spaceship lands on an unknown planet where they meet Ego. He saves them from the ravages and provides the shelter so they can fix the ship and fly away. The later events reveal that Ego has planned everything to trap Peter Quill into his trap so he can fulfill his evil missions to take over the galaxy.
